Electric vehicles, both hybrids and entirely electric cars, have arrived in the United States – and they are here to stay. All of the major automakers have introduced, or plan to introduce, hybrid and all-electric cars to their lineups. Stellantis, the company that runs the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram brands, is no different. In fact, the company recently announced plans to dominate the electric vehicle market. This article is going to take a look at the proposed electric vehicles (EVs) lineup for the CDJR brands to help Dayton, OH residents figure out what to expect in the future.

Ram and Dodge

For decades Dodge and Ram were the same brand – the Dodge Ram was one of the best-selling pickup trucks in the country! In the late 2000s, however, Chrysler decided to split the two, with Ram focusing on trucks and Dodge on muscle cars and the like. This split remains true for the forthcoming electric vehicle lineups for these two brands.

Ram will release an all-electric version of their award-winning RAM 1500 in 2024! Stellantis has suggested that the EV platform that this vehicle will ride on should get between 300 and 500 miles to a single charge. This latter number would be a huge jump from current technology – it’s rare for any of the all-electric vehicles on the market today to get much more than 300 miles per charge. It seems that Ram will not be sacrificing performance when it comes to the all-electric RAM 1500.

Dodge, for its part, also aims to keep performance at the forefront with their forthcoming all-electric Charger. Some Boone drivers might initially balk at this suggestion: how could an electric vehicle offer the power and fun of a V8 Charger? All-electric vehicles do have amazing performance potential: where a traditional vehicle needs to build up speed and power by way of combustion, a motor can simply start at the highest possible torque, which can launch vehicles from 0 to 60 in record times. We’re excited to see what the team that designed vehicles like the Challenger Hellcat can do with the potential offered by all-electric driving technology.

Chrysler and Jeep

Jeep has significant plans for the entireĀ  EV vehicle market. Company executives recently pledged to offer an electric Jeep in every market segment! Some of these already exist: Jeep’s 4xe models are plug-in hybrids that have great gas mileage, while retaining the company’s signature durability and style. At least one all-electric vehicle from Jeep is in the offing, however: the company suggested that an all-electric Wrangler is on the horizon!

Chrysler has not announced any specific new electric vehicles as of the writing of this article. At the event where many of these announcements were made, however, a CDJR executive came onto the stage in a never-before-seen EV with a Chrysler badge! Since then Chrysler has introduced this vehicle, which was a mystery for a while, as the Chrysler Airflow. That’s just the concept name – we don’t know what the production vehicle will be called, but we’re excited to find out.

Conclusion: Electric CDJR Vehicles

The rest of this decade promises to be a very exciting time in the automotive industry. The technological promise of all-electric vehicles is twofold: they’ll take less of a toll on the planet, and they offer new heights of performance, especially as the technology is refined!
