Meet the Wrangler

The 2021 Jeep Wrangler offers its drivers a choice of four strong engine options, starting with the standard 3.6-liter V6 offering 285 horsepower. This V6 also available with the automaker’s eTorque mild hybrid system adding low-power capabilities for optimal off-road performance. There is also a three-liter diesel V6 with 260 horsepower and a two-liter turbocharged engine producing ten more horses. These engines use either a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic transmission. The two-liter inline-four will serve as the basis for the Jeep brand’s foray into electric vehicles once the 4xe plug-in hybrid rolls out in December 2020. This engine will pair with an electric motor, allowing the Wrangler 4xe to produce 375 horsepower with 470 pound-feet of torque. Current predictions suggest the 4xe will boast a battery capacity of up to 25 miles on a single charge with a predicted fuel economy rating of 50 electric miles per gallon. In comparison, the gas-powered Wrangler boasts a relatively efficient rating of 17 city and 25 highway miles per gallon.

Wrangler Options

As a Jeep SUV, the Wrangler is full of trims and packages ripe for customization. Drivers seeking the fabled 3,500-pound Wrangler towing capacity should opt for an Unlimited trim, whether the Altitude, Sahara, Sahara Altitude or High Altitude. Otherwise, the vehicle delivers a still-respectable 2,000 pounds of towing capacity. All Wrangler trims use Jeep’s Uconnect infotainment system. Three different screen sizes are available across the lineup, featuring available Apple, Android and Amazon Alexa connectivity. The Wrangler also offers both a front and a rear camera as available add-ons. The Wrangler is built with safety in mind across the entirety of the vehicle. In the front, the SUV offers available driver assistance features such as forward collision warning and automatic high beam headlamps. The body itself is built with high-strength steel all across the frame to minimize impacts. And in the rear, the vehicle offers available back-up camera and parking assist systems. The Wrangler is covered under a three-year/36,000-mile warranty, with powertrain components covered for five years or 60,000 miles. Jeep also offers three years of complimentary maintenance. landscape background red and black jeep
