Dodge Challenger: Hellcat vs Scatpack

The Dodge Challenger is a 2-door performance sports coupe that seats five. Dodge has created the Dodge Challenger R/T Scatpack and the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat as even more souped-up versions of the base vehicle. The Scatpack features a 6.4L Hemi V8 engine that outputs an impressive 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque! This powerful engine joins with either a 6-speed manual transmission or an 8-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. This powertrain can send the Challenger from 0 to 60 in just 4.2 seconds – you’ll be able to pass anyone on the highway in this beast.

The Dodge Challenger  SRT Hellcat is an even more impressive vehicle. It features a V8 engine, just like the Scatpack, but this one is a supercharged 6.2L that outputs at least 717 horsepower. There are different Challenger SRT Hellcat trims that all use this same engine, but in different tuning states; the most powerful outputs 797 horsepower. To call that number “jaw-dropping” is an understatement. Challenger Hellcats go from 0 to 60 in less than four seconds, with the exact number depending on the model selected.

Both the Dodge Challenger R/T Scatpack and the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat model series are performance vehicles in every sense of the word. Their powerful engines pair with refined suspension to deliver an unparalleled driving experience that will leave some passengers breathless.

Dodge Charger: Hellcat vs Scatpack

The Dodge Charger Scatpack is a full-size four-door sedan that puts just about every other vehicle in its class to shame. A 6.4L V8 powers this version of the Challenger and makes 485 horsepower and 475 lb.-ft. of torque, just like the Challenger Scatpack. The Charger Hellcat likewise uses the same engine as the Challenger version, with different tuning available. The Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat can go from 0-60 in just about 3 and a half seconds, which is truly stunning.

The interior of all four of these vehicles is fairly similar. Dodge has created a sleek style that will make Des Moines, IA area drivers feel like they’re driving a racecar. This is easy enough to do, given the incredible performance of these muscle cars. They do include modern features like touch screens to handle music and navigation. The Hellcat, as the more expensive version of both the Charger and the Challenger, has leather upholstery and heated seats as standard features.

Hellcat vs Scatpack: Conclusion

There are two primary differences between Hellcat models and Scatpack models: engine and price. The Challenger and Charger Hellcat models feature the supercharged 6.2L Hemi engine that gets more than 700 horsepower, which does dwarf the Scatpack’s 6.4L Hemi and its 475 horsepower output. These are relative, however: the Scatpack is still speedier than just about anything else on the road. The Scatpack is consequently more affordable than the Hellcat, but it is also less well-known. Between the Challenger Hellcat, Challenger Scatpack, Charger Hellcat, and Charger Scatpack, there are options for every Ames, IA area driver who wants a performance car.
