2023 RAM 2500 vs 2024 RAM 2500

If you’re in the market for a heavy-duty truck, the RAM 2500 is always a strong consideration. This year’s 2500, the 2024 RAM 2500 is as strong as always; ready to help you get the job done. Below, we’ll dive into the few changes that have been made to the 2024 RAM 2500, as well as underscore some of what makes this the ultimate heavy-duty truck.

New for 2024: RAM 2500

RAM knows truck owners best. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. The 2024 RAM 2500 keeps everything drivers love about the RAM 2500 with only one minor change. Now standard on all trims of the RAM 2500 2024 model is the tailgate ajar warning lamp.

2024 RAM 2500s are built for power, and the tough use them. Though everything big is already likely strapped in, this extra protection keeps loose tools and equipment from rolling out the back of the bed by reminding hard workers when to close the tailgate.

Powertrain and Towing

Like always, RAM likes to keep things simple for drivers when choosing the powertrain for their next truck. As a result, there are three engine options split between gasoline and diesel. The gasoline 410 horsepower, 429 pound-feet of torque, 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 is the standard engine configuration that reeks power. It’s complemented by the available diesel powertrains: the standard or high output 6.7L Cummins inline six, which makes 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque and 400 horsepower and 1075 pound-feet of torque. It’s safe to say that with this much torque, the diesel options are towing machines.

If you want to tow your RAM 2500, you may be interested in the available trailer reverse steering control option. Trailering purists may balk, but for everyone else, this option allows you to choose the direction the trailer should go in while backing up rather than the direction of the truck. No longer do you have to do the shimmy with the trailer to get it just right with the RAM 2500! Its powerful features make the RAM 2500 one of the best trucks on the market for trailering.

When you’re not trailering, all the motors offered in the RAM 2500 are available in two-wheel and four-wheel drive. This means that you can narrow in on what you need out of your truck without choosing between too many engine and drivetrain configurations. The 2024 RAM 2500, like the RAM 2500 models of the past, remains true to its essence in giving drivers the power to get the job done the way they want.

Interior and Exterior

Depending on what you’re into, the RAM 2500 can be a pure, raw workhorse or a powerful statement of luxury. That’s thanks to the available features at different trim levels of the 2024 RAM 2500. Unlike the engines, there’s a range of trims to choose from in the RAM 2500. This allows you to customize not only all the features you want but also the price that makes sense for you to pay for your truck.

Drivers can opt for a single cab, a crew cab, or a spacious mega cab with the most significant backseat space for passengers in class. Below is a glimpse of the other available and standard features on the RAM 2500 at varying trim levels.

Standard and Available Exterior Features

  • Mopar Performance Hood: This sleek performance hood comes standard on the RAM Rebel
  • Acoustic Glass: Acoustic glass quiets the road noise and provides a quiet interior
  • Variety of Color Choices: Unlike some manufacturers, all color choices are available on all trims of the 2024 RAM 2500

Standard and Available Interior Features

  • Digital Rearview Mirror: The digital rearview mirror on the 2024 RAM uses the cameras on the vehicle to eliminate blind spots.
  • Side Camera Integration: Keep your focus on the road with cameras surrounding the vehicle, which allows for all potential accidents to be thwarted
  • 8-12-Inch Touch Screen Infotainment System: Drivers get to choose between differently sized high-tech systems for navigation, music, and more.
