The Jeep Compass falls into the "just right" size for a crossover that many of our Ames, IA customers seek in their vehicle. Today we're going to compare the 2019 Jeep Compass Latitude vs the Compass Limited, to help shoppers decide which trim best fits their needs. While the Limited is the more well-equipped model, the Latitude also has a great list of standard features, and has a big following.

Read on to learn more about each of these trim levels, as well as what makes the recently redesigned Jeep Compass such a favorite in the crossover market.

The Jeep Compass Latitude

The 2019 Jeep Compass comes in four trim levels, with the Latitude sitting right in the middle. It's a step up from the Sport model, and brings some extra standard features, as well as access to more options packages.

Standard features on the Compass Latitude include: 17-inch wheels, cloth and simulated leather seat upholstery, keyless entry and ignition, and leather-wrapped steering wheel. On the tech front, the Latitude comes standard with Jeep's Uconnect system with 7-inch touchscreen display, Bluetooth, and a six-speaker sound system. There are also optional advanced safety features, a Cold Weather package, and more available on the Latitude.

Both the Jeep Compass trims we're looking at today come with a 2.4l four-cylinder engine that puts out 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. This is plenty of power, whether driving around town or hitting the highway. The 2019 Compass can also be had with either FWD or AWD. Jeep's AWD system is a very popular option on the Jeep Compass Latitude, giving Ames owners increased control in inclement weather, and enabling some minor off-roading despite not being trail-rated.

The Jeep Compass Limited

The 2019 Jeep Compass's most well-equipped trim is the Limited, bringing more luxurious features to the Compass platform. Upgrading from the Latitude to the Limited will net buyers some very desirable features, including: larger wheels, remote start, 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, automatic dual-zone climate control, upgraded driver information display, power driver's seat, heated front seats & heated steering wheel, and leather upholstery.

As you can see, this is quite an impressive list of features for a compact crossover. The 2019 Jeep Compass Limited not only stands out from today's pack of competitors, but also brings the latest features that owners will enjoy for years to come.

But while it's certainly more well-equipped than the Compass Latitude, the Limited is still based on the same powertrain and overall platform. That means that both models have the same great on-road comfort, easy handling, and punchy yet efficient engine. Choosing between the two will come down to one's budget, as well as which features are most important to each buyer.
